Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D) Thursday

Warmly welcomed at NoiBai Airport by our guide we then transfer you to your hotel in Hanoi to begin Vietnam adventure tour. For this day, depending on your flight we will arrange a suitable city tour for you to get some first impressions of Hanoi -the capital. It can be the water -puppet show, cyclo tour to the old trading quarter. Welcome dinner featured with Vietnamese specialty. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Ha Noi - Ba Be Lake (B, L, D)

AM.: Depart for BaBe Lake , a mountain area, which is nearly 200 km far from Hanoi . Stop over in Thai Nguyen Town for an interesting visit to the M useum of Vietnamese Ethnology .
PM: Visit Ba Be Lake with 3 hour boat trip on Nang River and visit Puong Grottos, and enjoy beautiful BaBe National Park and lake. Overnight at ethnic village, named PacNgoi where visitors can get to know about Tay People. Enjoy daily meals of ethnic minorities. Overnight on stilt house.

 

 Day 3: Trekking from Ba Be to Tay Villages (B, L, D) 
AM: 7 hour hard trekking to visit Tay 's village accompanied by local guide. Picnic lunch will be arranged. We arrive the village of the Tay people, it is time for exploring the village and their way of living. Overnight in the village of ethnic people

Day 4: Trekking back to Ba Be Lake - TuyenQuang (B, L, D)

AM: Walking back Babe Lake . Resting
PM: Depart to Tuyen Quang, an old headquarter of Viet Nam Revolution. Lunch on the way. Overnight in Tuyen Quang.

Day 5: Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang (B, L, D)

AM: Depart to Ha Giang Town, amazing scenery on route.
PM: Free time to visit this beautiful town. Overnight in Ha Giang in a hotel.

Day 6: Ha Giang - Dong Van (B,L, D)

Depart in the early morning to visit the wonderful world of ethnic minorities people. Going on the moutain with many impressive sceneries and visiting many basically ethnic villages and colourful weekly markets. Lunch at Quang Ba Town. Overnight in Dong Van guest house.

Day 7: Dong Van - Ha Giang(B, L, D)

Drive back to Ha Giang from Dong Van continually to discover some cheerful and colourful ethnic Markets on the way. Lunch at Yen Ninh Town . Overnight in Ha Giang.

Day 8: Ha Giang - ThanhHa Resort (B, L, D)

Transfer back to HaGiang town. Enjoy ThanhHa resort hot stream. Visit Hmong villages and Trang village near ThanhHa Resort. Overnight in Thanhha Resort.

Day 9: Ha Giang - Bac Ha (B, L, D)

Leave for BacHa via Khe Pass , Tuyen Quang province. This day is a hard travelling by car but there will be beautiful scenery on route. Overnight at Saomai hotel.

Day 10: Bac Ha (B, L, D)  
Visit CanCau Market (on Saturday)- an outstanding feature of ethnic people in the North, or visit BacHa Market which is organized weekly only in Sunday. 2 hour trekking to discover villages of ethnic minorities (SanDiu, HaNhi, Xa ...) that remain natural and un-spoilt by tourists. Buying souvenir from ethnic people. Short walk to discover some surrounding villages (4-6 hours) with local guide. Overnight in Saomai Hotel.

Day 11: Bac Ha - Sapa (B, L, D)

Depart for Sapa, driving along the border line with China and stop at the border gate for visiting a nice temple. Drive to Sapa. Time for resting in this lovely town. Overnight in Sapa.
  
Day 12: Sapa - Tam Duong (B, L, D)

AM: Visit Sapa Market before your Departure for Tam Duong. Stop at one of the best waterfalls in the area-Silver Waterfall and view a huge valleys on top of the highest pass of Vietnam that called ”Heaven Gate” Overnight in TamDuong- PhongTho.

Day 13: Tam Duong - Lai Chau (B, L, D)

A.M.: Trekking by shortcut to SinHo Villages. Car will run free and meet travelers at Sinho Village . Continue drive to LaiChau Town . Overnight in LaiChau. Overnight in guest's house

Day 14: Laichau - Dien Bien Phu (B, L, D)

Leave LaiChau for Dien Bien Phu . Visit the old battle field. Overnight in DienBien.

Day 15: Dien Bien - Son la (B, L, D)

Am: leave Dien Bien for Sonla. Check in hotels.
Pm: Visit Old Prison of Sonla. Overnight at Hotel in Son La.

Day 16: Sonla - Hanoi (B, L)

Am: Back to Hanoi . Enjoy sightseeing on the route. Stop over at Maichau Valley .
Pm: 17h00 Arrive Hanoi . Overnight at Hotel in Hanoi .

Day 17: Ha Noi Dept (B)
 
Am: Free time for shopping until we transfer you to the airport. Good journey home!.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi - Ha Giang [D]
Breakfast at hotel. Tour guide & Driver pick you up at the hotel. Transfer to Ha Giang though Son Nam District of Tuyen Quang province. Enjoy natural landscape and green fields, palm hill and villages. Passing Tuyen quang town, you can visit village of black Tay minority. Arrive Ha Giang town in the late afternoon you’ll arrive at Me village - a hometown of Tay people. Remainder of the day for wandering to peaceful village and having dinner and spend the night in a family’s stilt house.  

 
 
 Day 2: Ha Giang - Yen Minh - Meo Vac - Dong Van [B]After breakfast, you’ll drive to the small communities of Yen Minh via Quan Ba pass. Today is a real challenge however the breath-taking scenery makes the hardship all worthwhile. Take a 2-hour easy trek to visit villages of Tay and Dzay people enroute before lunch in Yen Minh. In the afternoon, heading to Dong Van via Ma Pi Leng pass. This is one of the best photo stop to enjoy the wonderful sightseeing of this vast limestone mountain range and perpendicular walls of rock, which brings one a feeling of adventure whilst being lost in the rocky h ighlands . Check-in a local guest house in Dong Van. Your guide will show you the Dong Van Old Streets located by the market. You’ll spend the night in Dong Van.

Day 3: Dong Van - Yen Minh - Quan Ba [B]Breakfast in Dong Van then leave for the Vuong's Palace. The building used to belong to a King of H'mong people during the French domination. The palace attracts keen interest from architecturally minded visitors due to it mixed style of European and Chinese architecture. You might catch up a weekly market frequented the ethnic minority enroute.Late in the afternoon, you'll call at in a a flax weaving village before arriving at a guest house in Quan Ba for overnight accommodation

Day 4: Quan Ba - My Lam hot spring-Tuyen Quang [B]Breakfast outside of hotel. Local guide says good bye to you, we return to Tuyen Quang, we stop some interest points. Go to My Lam for some hours at leisure at Hot spring. Check in hotel in Tuyen Quang town. Free time to explore the town & afternoon market.

Day 5  Tuyen Quang - Viet Tri - Ha Noi [B]Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Ha Noi on No.2 national road. Arrive Vietri - an industrial city, taking break half an hour. We reach to Ha Noi after 4 hours from Tuyen Quang. Free time. End of our service.

Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Saturday, Hanoi - Mai Chau (D)
 
Begin this adventure tour our tour guide picks you up at your hotel in Hanoi and drives you to Mai Chau. During the trip we enter the dramatic northern mountainous area where you will be overwhelmed by sublime beauty and serenity. In Hoa Binh we will make a stop to make an interesting boat trip on the Da River where we visit the Muong and the Dzao minorities.
We will continue our way up to Mai Chau, passing some magnificent viewpoints, which offer you a panoramic view of the valley. In the afternoon we arrive in Pom Koong, a village of the White Thai people who inhabited the major part of the area. During the evening, we are going to enjoy a traditional dance and drink Ruou Can, a local rice wine.
We have dinner and spend the night in the houses of the native people, which will be without a doubt an experience for life. Be prepared that the living conditions are different from the ones you are accustomed to at home. However, mattresses, blankets and mosquito-nets are present for you.
 


 Day 2: Sunday, Mai Chau - Son La (B)
 
Waken up by the chickens and roasters of the village in the early morning. After a by our host prepared breakfast we are going to walk around town to experience the true essence of daily life of the local people. Later this morning we will continue our trip by car and drive towards Son La. We plan to make a stop at the tea plantation of Moc Chau and have a tea break with the H'mong tribe. During our way we also visit some Black Thai villages and make a little promenade over the amazing by hand-made bridges.
After arrival in Son La Town we visit the impressive Colonial Prison. We spend the night in a hotel.
 
Day 3: Monday,  Son La - Dien Bien Phu - Lai Chau (B) The road we follow today is spectacular as we climb the Pha Din Pass , known as the second highest and longest pass of Vietnam with an altitude of 1,500 m. The view is breathtaking and magnificent. At the middle pass, we visit a multi-ethnic primary school and a village of the White H'mong hill tribe where children in colorful traditional clothing welcome us with warm smiles. In Dien Bien Phu , we visit famous sites of the Indochina War led by the French in 1954, such as De Castrie PC, the War museum and Elliane Hill. After lunch in a local restaurant we continue our way to Lai Chau and notice the ‘Red H'mong girls with big hair’ on the side of the road. Lai Chau is our overnight stop for today. It will not take long before this town will be completely disappeared. A large dam is planned to be open between now and some years.
 
Day 4: Tuesday, Lai Chau - Tam Duong (B) The picturesque road from Lai Chau to Tam Duong goes along the Chinese Border and the Nam Na River. We visit some Black Thai villages, which are famous because of their wooden houses on piles. During the way we cross a footbridge leading us to Kh'Mu Village, an important hill-tribe similar to the Lao people in terms of language and traditions. Before arrival in Tam Duong, a stop at Man Tien Village is scheduled. We spend the night in a guest-house in Tam Duong.
 
Day 5: Wednesday, Tam Duong trekking (B) Tam Duong is a frontier town situated in a beautiful valley between limestone rocks. This place is the home of many hill tribes such as the H'Mong, Man Tien, Lu and Cu Chu people. Authentic in lifestyle and colorful in costumes, most of the tribes were emigrated from South China during the 17th - 18th century. A full day of trekking through their villages, hidden behind mountains and hills, enables us to learn how self-sufficient life is. A picnic is prepared for lunch. We will continue our trip with visiting a home-run tea factory as the area is famous for its tea plantation. Also this night is spent in the Tam Duong guest-house.
 
Day 6: Thursday, Tam Duong - Sapa (B)
This morning we are going to visit the Tam Duong Multi-Ethnic Market, an ideal place to meet local people. Ethnic groups from every part of the region come here to exchange their agricultural and handicraft products. After this interesting experience of interacting with the local people, we make a promenade to Pa Pe, a village of the Lu minority. The people here are famous because of their black teeth. When girls have the age of 10 they have to chew a certain type of plant (growing in the woods) which causes black moisture upon the teeth. Having black teeth is considered as a symbol of beauty in this tribe. After this amazing visit we continue our way to Sapa. Stop at Tram Ton Pass -the highest pass in Vietnam , 1900m, view the heaven gate and large valley and nice Silver Waterfall. We come higher and higher in altitude as we reach Sapa where we spend the night in a hotel. 
 
Day 7: Friday, Trekking in Sapa (B) Sapa is not only an ideal place for retreat with its moderate climate, it is also a place of cultural value and breathtaking mountainous scenery. The town of Sapa is inhabited by colorful hill tribes, which are based on the foot of Fan Xi Pan Mount and other surrounding valleys. Here we spend our whole day trekking around the river of Sapa Valley, crossing suspension bridges and witnessing green rice terraces. During our trek we will again be exposed to local life and the daily activities. We trek up and down and through bamboo forest, see three different ethnic minorities until we stop at a nice waterfall in GiangTaChai Village of the Red-Dzao to spend the night in the house of a local family.
 
Day 8: Saturday, Sapa - Bac Ha (B) We continue our walk to the village of SuPan where we will be picked up by our driver who brings us to Bac Ha. During this ride we pass the Chinese border (Lao Cai) where you can get a glimpse of the Chinese town of Hekou , and visit a nice temple there, located just at the other side of the Red River . Bac Ha is situated in the highlands and is mostly populated by the beautifully dressed Flower H'mong minority (famous for its multi-ethnic market). The environment is paved with plum trees. If you visit the town in spring you will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the white plum blossom. We spend the night in a hotel in Bac Ha.
 
Day 9: Sunday, Bac Ha - Thac Ba Lake (B, L, D)
From the early morning, thousands of people of different minorities from every corner of the area flock out to Bac Ha for their weekly most important activity, Bac Ha Sunday Market. Living in the high and remote mountains, these people consider the Sunday Market as a good chance to go out, meet people, drink alcohol and exchange their handy-made products. We will see a lot of hill tribes in colorful dressing participating in this colorful melting point.
We continue our drive to Thac Ba Lake . This night we stay with our friendly host in his beautifully constructed stilts house at the lake side.
 
Day 10: Monday, Thac Ba Lake - Hanoi (B)
Thac Ba is the biggest man-made lake in Vietnam and captivates travelers with its incredible authentic beauty and more than 300 islets under lush vegetation. We participate on a boat trip and visit some Dzao and Tay villages. After lunch in a local restaurant we will return to Hanoi
.

DAY 4: LAI CHAU - SA PA 
Overland drive 120 km to SaPa., passing the highest in Vietnam mountain pass. Lunch en route. PM: Walk around SaPa : 7 km (returned way ) to visit Black H'Mong villages. Dinner and sleep over night at hotel in SaPa.
 
DAY 5: SA PA - BAC HA
 
AM: Free to visit SaPa. Lunch in town. PM: Transfer to BacHa highland. 100 km. Over night in Bac Ha.
 
DAY 6: BAC HA TREKKING 
AM: Join the market in BacHa . PM: Walking to the villages of Flowered H'Mong and Tay people. Over night in Bac Ha.
 
DAY 7: BAC HA - HANOI 
Day drive back to Hanoi. Lunch at local restaurant en route.

Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Ha Noi - Quang Binh, Ha Giang (L, D)
 
Departure from Ha Noi by 4WD, or private vehicle to Ha Giang. Lunch on the way. Arrival in the afternoon in Quang Binh, the evening's can be spent watching and enjoying their Traditional Fire Dancing on hot coals (If booked). Also tasting their locally produced Corn wine. If it is particularly hot there, you can swim in the Bac (Silver) River. Very pleasant and giving you a feeling of being completely at one with your surroundings, and being in times past. Dinner and overnight in Quang Binh - either the government guest house, or a homestay with a local family. At present, that is the choice of accomodation available.More plans are being made to provide Quang Binh with other alternatives.


 Day 2: Quang Binh full day (B, L, D)
 
After breakfast, Bamboo rafting is here to have a gentle and relaxing ride along the Silver River but so interesting. This takes you through a few Tribal Villages where you can stop to chat and have lunch with the Locals. In the afternoon, a quick visit to the caves, we will check out a local Cave, called Pac Tham. This cave is very interesting and has a stream running through it and a big pool which is deep. You can have a swim here if you desire!. O/N in Quang Binh.

Day 3: Quang Binh - Ha Giang (B, L, D)
 
After breakfast, A Visit to the city, which is situated on the banks of two rivers Lo and Mien, the town is perched picturesquely between the superb mountains of Can and MoNeo. The daily Ha Giang Markets, near the Lo River in the old quarter, is especially dense. Here you can find all the ethnic minorities of Hagiang in many different colored costumes. This provides a great opportunity to wander around and take great photo's and observe the hustle and bustle. After lunch, we visit the Ethnology Museum : many archeological, ethnological, historical objects
are exhibited especially the ancient ''Gong'' made of  bronze, demonstrates a culture since the ancient time. Dinner and overnight in Ha Giang Town. 

Day 4: Ha Giang - Dong Van(B, L)
 
After breakfast, Depart to Dong Van via Quan Ba. Stop in Quan Ba pass ''the Paradise door'' where the view is superb, with green valleys and rows of identical hills and mountains. (The Quan Ba Sunday morning markets are one of the most important and interesting meeting places). In this region you find the White H’mong, the Red Dzao and Tay ... who live only in the villages around Quan Ba District. Lunch en route. Continue on to Dong Van District. We will stop to visit the H’Mong King Palace, built in 1900, Vuong Chi Duc was recognized King of H’mong tribes by French colonialists. In 1927, he was appointed as general of French army. In 1944, he surrendered to President Ho Chi Minh. Dinner and overnight in Dong Van.

Day 5: Dong Van - Meo Vac - Tuyen Quang (B, L, D)
 
After breakfast, we visit the Dong Van market and the ancient streets. Lunch in Yen Minh and then continue to Tuyen Quang via Meo Vac. Hot mineral bath available if desired. Dinner and overnight in Tuyen Quang. 
 
Day 6: Tuyen Quang - Thai Nguyen - Ha Noi (B, L, D)
 
TanTrao: a small valley lying between mountains and jungles in Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang Province . Tan Trao is a historical area that was used as a resistance base before the August 1945 Revolution. Tan Trao was a temporary capital of the independent section of the country, where the Vietnamese Communist Party held several meetings, especially during August 1945. On the 13th, attendees voted in favor of a general revolution during a National Conference meeting of the Communist Party. On the 16th, the National Assembly Conference was held. Ten major policies were voted by the Vietminh, the League for the Independence of Vietnam, and a temporary government chaired by President Ho Chi Minh was established. The Vietminh army was also founded on that day. Also on the 16th, the Temple Government led by President Ho Chi Minh had a meeting in the Tan Trao Communal House. The participants of this conference stayed at the Hong Thai Communal House. One hundred meters north of the communal house is the Tan Trao Banyan Tree.
Between June and August 1945, before he returned to Hanoi , President Ho Chii Minh resided in this area in a cottage erected by the liberation soldiers.
Return to Ha Noi via Thai Nguyen province.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi
 
Arrival in Hanoi followed by a transfer to our centrally located hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore Hanoi's tree-lined streets and wide boulevards. Tonight we have our orientation meeting and overnight in Hanoi.



 Day 2: Hanoi City Tour by Cyclo
 
Today our visits include the Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and One Pillar Pagoda. After lunch we continue our sightseeing with the Fine Arts Museum, The Temple of Literature and The Hanoi Hilton (once a political prison and used by American pilots from 1964 to 1972). We also enjoy a tour of the old quarter by cyclo (three-wheeled bicycle rickshaw), the best way to explore this busy place. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3: To Halong Bay
 
An early departure today to Halong via Ha Bac Province, which is the cradle of Buddhism in Vietnam. We board our boat and have a seafood feast lunch. We spend the afternoon exploring the bay, which consists of thousands of islands and islets formed by wind and water. The many limestone rock formations make for beautiful scenery and wonderful photos.We stop and visit Surprising Cave and Luon Grotto before dinner. We spend the night on the boat.

Day 4: Halong Bay, return to Hanoi
 
This morning we will continue to explore Halong Bay by boat. For early risers, the sunrise from the upper deck is a lovely way to greet the day from the water. We may see the fishing boats returning after the night fish. After breakfast, for anyone who wants to explore by kayak, the option is available at an additional cost. After a seafood feast for lunch, we return to the pier and then back to Hanoi. This evening we attend a water puppet performance and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 5: Traditional village visit
 
This morning we take a short drive along the Red River for a ferry crossing to the traditional village of Binh Minh. We visit the village market and then walk to the Buddhist Pagoda dedicated to the female Buddha with 1,000 eyes and hands. We also visit a Taoist Temple dedicated to Chu Dong Tu and hear the emotional love story of Chu Dong Tu and his wife. After lunch, we drive to Bat Trang pottery village and take a walk through the workshop to observe how these well-known ceramics are made. We return to Hanoi and there is free time before dinner. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 6: Cuc Phuong National Park
 
We depart Hanoi and drive to Cuc Phoung National Park, the first national park of Vietnam, established in 1962. It is home to over 1983 types of plants, 89 animal species and over 320 types of birds. We first visit the Endangered Primate RescueCenter, which was also the first wildlife center in Vietnam. We may see Delacour's langurs, Cat-ba langurs and gibbons. We continue our exploration of the park with a hike. We will split into 2 groups, an easy hike to Sau Tree or a longer hike to the One Thousand Year Old Tree. Overnight Cuc Phuong National Park.

Day 7: To Vu Quang National Park along the Ho Chi Minh Trail
 
Depart Cuc Phuong for our scenic drive to Vu Quang National Park. During our drive, we pass along the infamous Ho Chi Minh trail, with several stops to enjoy the scenic beauty and photograph the beautiful mountainous landscape. Arrive late afternoon in Vu Quang. Dinner and overnight in Vu Quang National Park.

Day 8: Phong Nha Cave

We depart for Dong Hoi, once again driving along the infamous and beautiful Ho Chi Minh trail. Enjoy a boat ride on the Son river to visit Phong Nha Cave, one of the longest caves in Vietnam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cave holds traces of the Cham people, the rulers of central Vietnam before the 17th century. Admire the beautiful limestone rock formations found in the area. After lunch we continue to Dong Hoi. Afternoon is free to enjoy Don Hoi. Dinner and overnight Dong Hoi.

Day 9: Dong Hoi to Hue via Hein Luong & Thach Han Bridges (The DMZ)

Morning to relax. After lunch we drive from Dong Hoi to Hue, along Highway 1 into the DMZ (The Demilitarized Zone). We first stop at Hien Luong Bridge before continuing on to visit the Vinh Moc Underground Village, which is different from the more famous Chu Chi tunnels, as these tunnels and caves were used for living and not fighting. The Vinh Moc tunnels have also not been altered for tourists. We stop at Thach Han Bridge en route to Hue, where the USA and Vietnam exchanged POWs in 1972. Overnight in Hue.

Day 10: Hue Sightseeing

Today we sightsee in Hue, the most important of the ancient capitals of Vietnam. We visit Dai Noi Citadel and view this fantastic structure, based on Chinese designs in Beijing. We will also visit Thien Mu Pagoda and the Royal Tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. After lunch we visit the local Dong Ba market and take cyclos to explore the ancient streets of Hue. Overnight in Hue.

Day 11: Hai Van Pass, Da Nang Beach & Hoi An Sightseeing

Today we drive to Hoi An via the spectacular Hai Van Pass. We stop at the Cham Museum in Danang and have lunch at beautiful China Beach.
In the afternoon, we arrive in Hoi An - a ''iving museum'' because of its well-preserved architectural styles. This afternoon we have a walking tour of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Quaint pastel buildings line the streets, interspersed with colorful temples, small art galleries and meandering canals. We visit Hoi An Museum, a Chinese pagoda and an ancient Japanese Bridge. Dinner and overnight in Hoi An.

Day 12: Hoi An boat trip, Vietnamese cooking demonstrationn

Optional early morning visit to the fish market. After breakfast we enjoy a morning boat trip on the river to observe local life. We have lunch in a local restaurant in town. This afternoon we visit an orphanage or a local school (depend on day of the week). An optional walking or biking tour can be arranged if time permits. This evening we enjoy a Vietnamese cooking demonstration and try our hand at some appetizers, followed by dinner. Overnight Hoi An.

Day 13: My Son World Heritage Site

We drive today to the holy land of the Cham people, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of My Son. The My Son ruins cover a large area and have beautiful groups of ruins of Cham towers and Hindu Temples.From the 3rd to the 13th century, there were 74 towers built by the Northern Cham (also referred to as the Betal Nut Clan). This afternoon is free to explore Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 14: Hoi An to Saigon, Cu Chi Tunnels

We travel today to Da Nang to catch our flight to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Upon arrival, we explore the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, the Vietcong's underground tunnel system that, at one time, stretched as far as the Cambodian border. The network consists of over 130 miles of tunnels in the Cu Chi district alone; parts of which are several stories deep. There are trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens ' all under ground!Parts of this remarkable tunnel network have been enlarged and upgraded and are now open to the public. Return to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) for dinner and overnight.

Day 15: Saigon city sights

This morning we explore the sites of this fast paced city. Highlights include: Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic post office, the War Crimes Museum, and Reunification Hall. Lunch in Saigon. Afternoon free. Dinner and overnight in Saigon.

Day 16: Scenic drive to Dalat

We enjoy a long scenic drive to Dalat; along the way passing the villages of Bao Loc, Di Linh and Duc Trong. We visit the floating houses on Langna River and continue on to Bao Loc. We visit a local family and a workshop that raises silkworms to produce silk. This whole area is known for its successful economic policies and has vast plantations of coffee, tea and mulberry.

After lunch we will visit the Dambri waterfall and continue on to Dalat via Di Linh and Duc Trong. Crossing the mountain pass of Preen there are impressive views of Dalat with its French villas and colorful flowers. Dalat was a former hill station of the French colonials, and is known to the Vietnamese as the '€œCity of Flowers'. Dinner and overnight in Dalat.

Day 17: Dalat city sights

This morning we explore Dalat's sights: the colorful market, 'œCrazy House' the former Palace of the Emperor Bao Dai, and the Flower Garden. After this we will walk or bike around Xuan Huong Lake. We then have a relaxing stop at a coffee and tea house before enjoying free time to visit the local market. Dinner and overnight in Dalat.

Day 18: Dambri Waterfall, Saigon

After breakfast we journey back to Saigon. We stop for lunch in Bao Loc and try to return to Saigon before the heavy rush hour traffic. Dinner and overnight in Saigon.

Day 19: Cai Be, Tein riverboat trip

We drive today from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) to Cai Be in Tein Giang Province. Upon arrival we board our boat to travel on the Tein River to the Cai Be floating market. During the day we get on and off the boat to explore local villages where we can see coconut candy, dried longan, rice cakes and fish sauce being made. We will also visit a local house that has a beautiful bonsai garden on our way into Vinh Long Province. We overnight in Can Tho.

Day 20: Saigon, floating market

We visit Cai Rang market this morning by boat. Cai Rang is a wholesale market and the sellers hang their products over their boats with a stake to advertise what is on sale. Afternoon free in Saigon. Farewell dinner and overnight in Saigon.

Day 21: Depart Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)

We depart for the airport to board our international flights homeward.

Day 12 : Hanoi – Halong Bay Cruise
 
Morning departure to Halong Bay. Infinite rice fields and the daily life of the Red River hamlets enlighten our trip before our arrival at the bay around twelve noon. Checking on our junk boat for a fairy tale cruise on the jade checkerboard. Sumptuous seafood on board. Night in a boat private cabin. Breakfast, lunch and diner included.

Day 13: Halong Bay – Trang An
 
Breakfast in the middle of the City of Lime Palaces enrobed in a morning mist. We continue our cruise of the mirrored waters. Return to the pier around 11AM, road to the fabulous site of Trang An via Thai Binh and Nam Dinh. In the province of Thai Binh, we visit a Keo pagoda, the imposing wooden architecture of which emerges in the middle of a magnificent village. End-of-the-afternoon arrival. Night at the hotel. Day 14: Trang An – Hanoi
 
We board a small sampan to explore the recently discovered site of Trang An, an “Halong Bay on the Ground”. Instead of the emerald green waters of the bay, it is the green of the rice fields which dominates. One of those sites where Nature seems to have become insane and petrified for eternity in its delirium. Boat ride amidst the lime rocks. Visit of Bai Dinh Pagoda in the village of Van Long. Day 06: Cam Son – Halong Bay

Day 07: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Night Train to Hue
 
Breakfast in the middle of the City of Lime Palaces enrobed in a morning mist. We continue our cruise of the mirrored waters. Return to the pier around 11AM and drive to Hanoi, transfer to the railway station for the night train to Hue in comfortable sleeping wagons. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 08: Hue
 
Welcome at the railway station. Checking in our private house superbly located in a green environment. Visit of the mausoleums of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh, who reigned over the Nguyen Dynasty. After lunch, excursion in a sampan on the famous Perfume River until Thien Mu Pagoda (Pagoda of the Celestial Lady), one of the most ancient and beautiful religious monuments in Hue. Then, visit of the Forbidden Citadel. Small stroll through the city and return to our host’s house nestled among gardens, located in the town green suburbs. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 09: Hue – Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park
 
Morning departure to the province of Quang Binh, to reach Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, at the foot of the Truong Son mountain chain. The oldest karst region of Asia, the park offers a spectacular scenery of grottoes, underground rivers, archeological sites, and a tropical forest of rich and varied floras. Since 1993,  the park is registered as a Unesco World Heritage. Visit of the Phong Nha Grottoe, famous for its kilometers of galleries, underground rivers, and numerous stalagmites and stalactites. Night in Dong Hoi. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 10: Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park – Hoi An
 
Early in the morning, we drive to Hoi An via the Mandarin Road and the spectacular Pass of the Clouds, which offers a magnificent view of Danang and the surroundings. Arrival in Hoi An at the end of the afternoon. Night at the hotel. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 11: Visit of Hoi
 
Stroll and visit of the ancient harbor city of Hoi An: small antiquities museum, Japanese Covered Bridge, the old houses, the silk stores, the talentuous tailors, etc. In the afternoon, bicycling to the Tra Que vegetable village, encounter with local farmers. Day 1: Hanoi – Thainguyen – Babe national park (- ; L; D)

- Picked up at hotel in Hanoi at 07.30 for a road trip northwards of Hanoi along national road 3.
- Stop at Thai Nguyen City after about 2 hours driving for paying visit to the Museum of Ethnology.
- Leaving Thai Nguyen and continue the road ride to Cho Moi townlet for lunch break and then continue the road ride to Na Phac junction.
- Turn right to the road 279 for about 6 km and leaving the main road for an hour walking around a lush valley to explore a village of the Yao Tien.
- Back to the road and heading to the center of Ba Be National Park, check in hotel and spend the rest of the day walking to explore the surrounding nature.
- Driving 255 km in about 6 hours, walking for 2 hours.

Day 2: Babe national park – Colia pass – Balac (B; L; D)

- Breakfast, check out and then leave the Park’s head quarter at 08.00.
- Take the morning short walk to the boat pier and then enjoy the whole morning mainly on boat for exploring the pure nature of Ba Be lake and national park with some highlights including visiting to Dau Dang Waterfall and Puong Cave.
- Lunch at Cho Ra Townlet and then spend the whole afternoon transferring uphill for 160 km to Bao Lac Townlet with several stops along the way for admiring spectacular scenery of the western part of  Cao Bang Province and paying visit to villages of the Nung peoples.
- Arriving in Bao Lac in late afternoon, check in hotel, dinner and then free walk along the Gam River and explore this charming townlet.
- Boat trip for 4 hours. Driving 160 km in about 6 hours.
- Accommodation: basic local hotel in Bao Lac.

DAY 3 – Baolac – Niemson – Meovac (B; L; D)

- Today, if falls on 5; 10; 15; 20; 25; 30 of the lunar month, clients will have chance to attend the market in this town which offers chances for meeting peoples from some local small ethnic groups such as Black Lolo, San Chay,…who always wear beautiful traditional costumes. If so, please get up early and be ready for the market at 07.00 am for the best time of the market.
- Leaving Bao Lac at about 09.00 for a drive along the Gam River for an hour before turning right and traveling uphill to the higher land, heading north to Meo Vac Townlet of Ha Giang Province.
- Stop along the way for visiting several small hamlets of the Nung, Tay and H’mong ethnic peoples at Niem Son Commune scaterring along the Nho Que River.
- Arriving in Meo Vac at about 13.00, having lunch and check in hotel for a short rest.
- The groups meets again at 14.00 and spend the rest hours of the afternoon walking along the stunning Nho Que River, admiring scenery of the spectacular Ma Pi Leng Pass, paying visit to villages of the H’mong, Zao and Red Lolo ethnic peoples as well as the Meo Vac market in late afternoon.
- Driving 83 km in about 4 hours, walking 2,5 hours.
- Accommodation: Standard  hotel in Meo Vac.

DAY 4 –  Dongvan – Lungcu – Phobang – Yenminh – Quanba (B ; L; D)

- If on Sunday, the clients will spend 2 hours in the early morning for joining the local ethnic peoples at the Meo Vac market including the H’mong, Zao and especially Red Lolo who always go to the market in their colorful traditional costumes.
- Leaving Meo Vac at about 09.00 am, the clients will enjoy one of the most stunning landscapes of the northern mountain: The Ma Pi Leng Pass. At the top of the pass, after admiring the magnificent scenery, clients will pay visiting to a small H’mong hamlet set amongst the rocks featuring the very tough life on this famous limestone highland.
- Continue along the road 4c which winds its way on steep sides of limestone mountains to Dong Van, the northernmost townlet of Vietnam. Spend an hour to visit Dong Van market place and walk along the ancient street of Dong Van before settle down for lunch.
- Leaving Dong Van for an hour drive to Lung Cu, the northernmost commune of Vietnam, walking to visit a Red Lolo village for half an hour and then driving downhill 24 km to Xa Phin Village to pay visiting to the famous historical site of the Vuong Family’s Palace famous for its mixture of H’mong architectural style.
- Leaving Vuong Palace and drivie 15 km through the rocky region to Sung La commune where clients will enjoy walking to visit a charming village of the H’mong before going uphill for half an hour to the ancient townlet of Pho Bang, featured with clay-walled houses roofted by Yin and Yang tiles.
- Driving the last portion of the road trip today to Yen Minh Townlet. Check in local guest house, dinner and relax.
- Driving 113 km in about 5 hours, total walking for about 3 hours.
- Accommodation: Basic local guest house in Yen Minh.

DAY 5 – Yenminh – Quanba –  Naman Lake(B; L; D)

- Leaving Yen Minh at 08.00 for a drive up and downhill over the spectacular Yen Minh mountain pass with some stops for overviewing scenery and paying visit to a Red Zao village.
- Leaving the main road, crossing the Nho Que river by suspension bridge and walk along the bank of the river for an hours through the Can Ty commune of the H’mong before taking the road ride again to Quan Ba Townlet.
- Spending an hour paying visit to Nam Dam, another village of the Red Yao which beautifully set at the center of the valley at the foot of Quan Ba mountain pass before having lunch break.
- Driving uphill the beautiful Quan Ba pass, take a short walk around the Lung Muoi village of the H’mong and then driving downhill all the way to Ha Giang Township and onto Nam An eco spot. Here clients will enjoy themselves amongst the pure nature of the surrounding forest and lake for the rest hours of the day or walking for about 2 km to visit a Red Yao village.
- Driving 155 km in about 5 hours, total walking for about 3 hours.
- Accommodation: Local lodge in stilt house at Nam An.

DAY 6 – Naman – Vinhtuy – Hanoi (B; L; D)

- Full day road trip from Nam An to Ha Noi along national road 2 via Bac Quang, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Viet Tri with several stops and break along the way.
Arriving back to Hanoi in the afternoon at about 05.00 PM, trip ends.
- Driving 315 km for about 7 hours. 1 hour for lunch.

Day 02: Hanoi - Perfume Pagoda - Hanoi (B, L, D)

Starting at 8:00 am from Hanoi to the Perfume Pagoda (62 km) southwest of Hanoi, a place of Buddhist pilgrimage in the region. It is reached by land and by river. Boat trip on the canal surrounded by rice fields out of sight, visit the Pagoda, which is in a string of sugarloaf hills in all shades of blue, green and gray-blue in a green landscape woodland, with stretches of mist, water changing, silence. We cross a few people working boats, transporters, fishermen. Return to Hanoi in late afternoon, stopping to visit the silk village of Van Phuc.

Day 03: Ha Noi - Mai Chau (160 km) (L, D) 

In our jeep, we start from your hotel and take the road through the infamous traffic of Hanoi. When we go out of town (just 10 km), we will quickly find ourselves in the country life of Vietnam. On the road to Hoa Binh, we pass through a region of spectacular limestone mountains, passes and valleys, then descend to the valley of Mai Chau Thai people. We spend the afternoon walking around the two villages and Pom Coom Lake to learn more about Thai people, and finally experience their hospitality with a night in their house on stilts.

Day 04: Mai Chau - Moc Chau - Son La (160 km) (B)

Today we'll drive about the same distance as we made our trip to Mai Chau. The road to Son La is lined with orchards, tea plantations, towering montagnes.Les chance to meet and talk to black ethnic Thai, White Thai, Hmong and Muong are numerous. In the afternoon we visit the prison museum Son La, which remains as a poignant reminder of the injustices of the old French colonial rule. Overnight at Hotel Cong Doan. Includes: (B)

Another beautiful day on the road. We will visit small villages and tribal meet more people along our trip to Dien Bien Phu. Stop for lunch in Tuan Giao before continuing on to Dien Bien. Afternoon at Dien Bien Phu - the last base of French power in Indochina where we will visit monuments, museums, war relics and bunkers kept all tell the story of the final and victorious liberating battle of 1954. Day 07: Lai Chau - Sapa (90 km) (B)

At the first light, you will see and hear the sounds of village life in the morning. Day 11: Cao Son - Muong Lum (B, L, D) 

We descend by marked footpaths in a little valley through fields of cassava and maize. The trek is difficult with some steep climbs and descents on foot, but the views are incredible. Day 12: Muong Lum - Trek - Ban Cam-Bac Ha (B, L, D)

After several hours of walking on a flat road, we reach the village of Ta Van Chu composed of about fifty families of the Mong ethnic group in bloom (or Mong camouflage). The day is special for the tribes of the region. They descend from villages nestled in the mountains to attend their Sunday markets. We believe in a parade of clothes in all colors from the tribal Hmong, Dao, Tay, Nung. The exchanges are in a half day and then take the following feasts in the corners of restaurants with the ambiance Aboriginal particular. Day 18: Meo Vac - Lung Phin - Yen Minh - Vi Xuyen (B)
